Portokalopita- it’s a Greek orange cake made with crinkled phyllo dough! It’s syrupy and so delightful, it truly melts in your mouth.

What you need

baking powder

nonfat greek yogurt
vegetable oil

egg
vanilla paste

granulated sugar

orange

Instructions
1. Crinkle phyllo dough sheets and bake at 250 F for about an hour until crispy; 2. To make the batter beat eggs with sugar, vanilla, orange zest, then add yogurt and gradually pour the oil and squeeze the orange juice; 3. Once the phyllo sheets have cooled enough to handle- crush them into the batter, add baking powder and mix until well incorporated; 4. Grease your casserole dish and pour the mixture over, top with orange slices and bake at 350 F for about 30 mins; 5. Meanwhile make the syrup by mixing water, sugar, orange zest and juice; bring to boil and set aside; 6. Once cake has cooled down a bit, pour the syrup over and you can enjoy immediately or let it soak before slicing into it!View original recipe
