Pear Tart Tatin- an irresistible French Classic that is superior in taste to a traditional pear or apple pie in my humble opinion! If you are using a store- bought puff pastry is relatively easy to put together!

What you need

vanilla ice cream

unsalted butter

granulated sugar

anjou pear

puff pastry
Instructions
1. Wash, peel, core and quarter your pears; 2. To make the caramel pour 1/2 cup water, sugar, butter and vanilla into a pan and cook until you have a dark caramel as you are constantly stirring; add 1/4 cup of water as needed; 3. Preheat oven to 350 F; 4. Toss pears into the caramel and arrange them on the pan as shown and cook in the oven for about 30 mins; 5. Roll and cut the pastry sheet a little bigger than your pan and top off the cooked pears; fold the edges in; 6. Bake on the bottom rack for about 35-40 mins or until golden; 7.
